Is Everybody Going Crazy

A teenager who was meant to be preparing for a job interview instead spent the morning in court.
Having been caught in a supermarket stealing 30 cans of drink. He was apprehended outside by the security gaurds.
Bear in mind, he had previous convictions for shoplifting and handling stolen goods.
In court he said to “be honest there was no excuse for what I did. I was bored“.
The Magistrates gave him a 12-month conditional discharge.
Does this make sense.
How many times do you hear this story, these people go out and commit these crimes, the police put in god knows how much time catching them, only for the local magistrates to slap them on the wrist and let them go.
Can anyone wonder why on earth this country of ours is like it is.
It seems to be that the only person they care about  at the time is the criminal, it’s about time somebody tore up the rule book and let someone with common sense re-write it.
It does make you wonder about todays society, and where it’s going. You only have to look at the Gunman Raoul Moat case.
After what he did, people still think he is a bloody idol, how the hell do they come to that conclusion.
Can somebody tell me?
